Friday Favourites

Happy Friday, design lovers! Unique, bold and fun are the words that come to mind with this weeks batch of #FridayFaves. Words to live by!

Aly is loving this colourful Balloon Portrait by Carla Sutera Sardo. She focused on her body and her surroundings when she started experimenting with photographic techniques. With that in mind, she tried blending these two worlds together, resulting in this photo. With the use of pastel coloured balloons, the woman’s body is emphasized in its simplest form with blue sky surrounding. Similar photos taken by Carla can be found at Artstar.

Katie is also intrigued by an artist. This mural, called Sur La Lune, was produced by Kitty Sabatier from France. She has always had a fascination with lines, and with that, she came up with the composition of this mural. The thick black lines are the focus of her murals and are accompanied by thinner lines. She experiments with positive and negative space, shapes, and connecting lines resulting in an industrial-like wall covering found at Area Environments.

Alison is in love with this four-poster bed from Lulu and Georgia. Made from natural woven cane matting, the Kaira Bed puts a spin on the classic four poster bed by adding a black finish for a modern, clean aesthetic. The four posts outline the bed in a sleek manner, making the bed the focal point of a bedroom. With neutral colours, it offers flexibility for the rest of the space.

Shaelynn is starstruck by the Technopolymer Chair from the TATA collection at Pointhouse. This chair has a radiant yellow colour to catch your attention. Although, this chair is available in wood finishes and different coloured fabric and technopolymer, the yellow pops the most and contrasts with the black tubular structure. This design won Archiproduct’s Design Award in 2018. For a dining space with a lack of attention, this chair in the yellow will be a great addition.
