Wall Drama!

Wall Drama!

We are so excited about a project we’re working on right now that we just have to share with all of you!

Our awesome clients welcomed us warmly into their home — and kept open minds, which we always appreciate and love! When we saw their grand stairwell from the main floor into the basement we just knew that it was the perfect wall for a magnificent feature! The house has such beautiful architecture that this grandiose wall is the perfect canvas for a custom piece.  We discussed a few options, from oversize artwork, to a hanging Persian rug, and finally landed on the idea of a custom wallpaper feature! We love to create drama in our spaces and scouted out some very dramatic options through Trove and Crown Wallpaper. All three options have very different feelings and capture a variety of emotions.

Trove 1

The first is a lively leaf print from Trove; a symphony of burnt gold, rust, copper and grey tones make this print come to life, and capture the spirit of a crisp walk on a cool autumn day. The random repetition of this custom piece adds a lot of character and movement to the wall, showcasing its breadth.

Trove 2

The second possibility is another selection from Trove. This option features a spring raincloud-like grey background and a navy canopy of swaying leaves which cascade down the wall from the remarkable vaulted ceiling. This option is incredibly relaxing and whimsical, adding just enough drama to this fabulous expansive wall.

Koury Stairwell Feature Wall

The third option is a stormy scene from Crown Wallpaper. A horizontal reflected banding billows across this massive wall like a storm rolls through the prairies in late August. An incredibly intense and mesmerizing scene of dark greys and stormy blues is enhanced by the very relaxing, feathery brushstrokes in titanium white which flank the top and bottom of this dramatic scene.

A wall like this is a desperate cry for drama and we love each of these choices for different reasons; stay tuned to see which one we choose!
