Setting a Spring Table

So it’s finally Spring, and you’re wondering how to set your table at this time of year? Below are some tips on setting a Spring table, and making the most of this bright, and blooming season!

Spring Table

We love fresh cut flowers, and think that creamy hydrangeas (1) and bright magenta peonies (5) are always a good idea! Adding bunches of these lush flowers in staggered-height vases to a table is a great way to breathe a breath of fresh air into any dining room! They have a very soft, subtle fragrance and are beautiful enough to pop on the table long after the meal is over. Flowers just scream Spring, and sitting on top of this Fishnet Woven Runner (4) from West Elm, they couldn’t be more charming!

Speaking of runners; let’s just talk about this runner business for a second! Don’t be afraid to layer them! If you have a solid runner that just looks too plain on its own, try layering one like the West Elm Fishnet Woven Runner (4) over top – or even a lace or sheer runner can add a lot of texture and interest to the table!

Just as this season requires you layer up your clothing, layers on a place setting are a great way to add dimension and depth to a dining table. These Dahlia Floral Placemats by Chilewich (8) add the perfect amount of modern sparkle underneath these classic robin’s egg blue Incanto Baroque Chargers (2). We love to mix in a bit of pattern into a place-setting and this gorgeous white and gold striped Audrey Dinnerware Set by Lenox (6) is the perfect way to do that! What to crown this Springy tower of table perfection? A magenta, floral, cloth napkin is the perfect addition! It adds a necessary pop of colour and pulls the setting together.

Everyone loves gold, right? We sure do! So don’t shy away from using gold cutlery like this Supreme Cutlery Set by Towel Baroness (10) which you can find on Rubylane.com — its vintage charm flanking your Spring-ready place setting adds just enough character and drama to the table.

Friends and family come to dinner for a few reasons; delicious food and fruity wine are chief among them, so why not display that sparkling chardonnay and a glitzy wine glass?! These Gold and Luster Stemless Wine Glasses (3) from Wayfair are the perfect addition to any Spring tablescape!

Lastly, serving dishes! It is said that people eat with their eyes first, so how about some charming serving dishes to display your culinary artwork on? This fantastic Rachel Kozlowski Pheasant Platter (7) from West Elm is a great way to serve your dinner guests. And how about this charming cake stand (11) from Amazon.com — your guests will go gaga for a decadent dessert off of this beauty! In addition to these fantastic dishes, let’s just point out these adorable speckled Egg Salt and Pepper Shakers (9) from Williams-Sonoma — how cute are they?!

Preparing a table can be a lot of work, but it also can also be a lot of fun, and totally worth the effort. Your guests will be swooning over your impeccable taste and amazing meal. Happy Spring dining everyone!
