Friday Favourites

Friday Favourites

Happy Friday, design lovers! Sometimes design can be a little unconventional and weirdy as we like to call it in the office, but that is a good thing! This week’s #FridayFaves are unexpected, but we love the potential these pieces could have in a space.

Katie – What a better way to bring colour and texture into a space that to add the Fairfax Chair by Kelly Wearstler! By using a selection of curated fabrics and leathers, you don’t need to decide on one material. Not only is it uniquely upholstered, but it also gives a new perspective for an occasional chair. This chair is asymmetrical with spaces between the hardwood framing for an intriguing look at every angle. Behind the surface, the chair features double-dowelled joinery and built to last.

Aly – In finding light fixtures for a space, one of the aspects to consider is the view from all angles. With the Orbit Pendant Series, this is a no-brainer. The arrangement of the cage imitates an orbit, which is where the inspiration for this design originated. The sleek black lines surrounding the opalescent glass globe embrace a simple design. Its elongated design is able to hang on its own in a commercial setting or in a row in a residential setting.

Alison – The decor does not stop at dishware and cutlery! The Anders Flatware in a brushed copper from Greystone Table amps up the dining table. Instead of the traditional silverware, the copper can elevate the space and draw guests to the table. The slender shaft and three-prong forks make up a contemporary design. With contemporary decor, the copper finish can warm up the space to make the dining table more inviting.

Shaelynn – The ledge console by Simon Johns is a creative form to be mounted on the wall; an unconventional console with storage. The floating piece is enhanced with the layers of solid ash to mimic crumbling stone, then the slat detail that is incorporated makes the piece more organic and disguises the cabinet doors. The black finish and black glass top make for a clean, modern finish and a unique element to a space.

Leina – Commercial settings are a great place to experiment with new ideas to impact guests when they visit for a short time. Leina came across a very interesting design at the Beau At Grand Indonesia Shopping Center. A chandelier made of horns of instruments. Each horn sits on a different plane, with an arrangement that is grounded at the center and lamps illuminating from each end.
