Friday Favourites

Happy Friday, design lovers! Nothing wrong with a feminine touch. Fluid lines make a space more engaging without the harsh linear edges. These #FridayFaves will have you wanting more of what’s beautiful!

Katie is inspired by this delicate Phase Chandelier from Anony. It was designed after the “exquisite balancing act found in hanging kinetic mobiles.” The concept is to take a simple shape in three forms. A sphere, a disc, and a melted semi-circle. Using balanced weight and steel piping, the Phase Chandelier shows technique and beauty. The brass finish complements the white glow of the lamps. Built from the bottom to the top, the parallel piping exemplifies a contemporary light fixture to show off in residential or commercial interiors.

Alison is stunned by this beautiful Oversized Wall Hanging made by Attalie Dexter. The white shows a softness that can go in any room for a cozy setting. The wall hanging is made with natural polished brass and lace weight recycled cashmere fibers in neutral and pastel colours. Simple in its design, it makes for a statement piece over a bed. With customizable options, this wall decor is versatile and shows off a modern bohemian vibe.

Aly is swooning over the V2 Gluck Pendant in the colour, Rust-Ecre Marl. Naomi Paul Lighting offers hand crocheted pendants by textile artisans. The firmness of this pendant provides function over a table but equally serves as a sculptural piece. The curves in the shade make the fixture look soft in the space and is enhanced with a warm glow that shines through the holes of the fiber.

Shaelynn loves coming across wallpaper that has individuality. The Femme Mural in terracotta from Drop It Modern does just that. This classic matte panel has facial figures in an abstract form of art. The strokes of colour add visual texture as if it were a wall treatment but is layered with white lines to make pictorials. This is overall a unique surface, especially when a touch of femininity is desired.

Leina is on the curve appeal train when she picked out this rattan furniture collection designed by Alvin Tjitrowirjo. This Indonesian designer wanted to encourage rattan as a high-quality material. His collection was noticed at Milan design week. By using rattan as the base material, it is made modern with the multiple curves that make up the back and armrest. Black adds a sharp statement in a space, while the natural colours nod to the classic use of materials. This is the perfect addition to a space for guests to admire.
