Project Of The Month

This month, we are excited to give you a tour of our latest collaboration with Alloy Homes. Our De Winton Residence is a modern farmhouse that exceeds all expectations with its unique exterior and open concept interior. From the silhouette at dusk to all the cozy textures inside, we share with you the dreamy experience of country living!

Our De Winton Residence modern farmhouse starts with the exterior. It blends with the surrounding area of country hills yet stands out with a black cladding façade. As the sun sets, it’s roof peak silhouettes, showing off the modern form amongst the fields.

The galley kitchen is one of the highlights of the main floor. It uses the beautiful combination of white, panel ready cabinetry; white, stone textured tile; concrete-like quartz countertop, and black accents. Black accents are brought out through the matte black edge pulls, barstool seat cushions, and the large black pendants above the island. This gives the desired modern look in the kitchen and contrasts against the white finishes. The barstools that sit on the open side of the island give add a warm touch against the solid finishes and tie in well with the rest of the space. A mezzanine is displayed at the view of the kitchen, involving interest in the volume of the space. Definitely an architectural feature that is often desired when the opportunity arises!

The open concept living area is inviting from the kitchen to the living room. The elliptical table made with a marble tabletop incorporates family gatherings centered between the kitchen and the living room. Above is an extended chandelier in a matte black finish and illuminates the glass, globe shades. This directs your eye to the dining area as its own entity. On either side of the dining table are farmhouse styled, wood chairs, fitting in with the concept of the home. The rest of the furniture in the living area is centered around a gorgeous area rug from Indo Designer Rugs with ample room to sit and socialize. Incorporating more white into the furniture allows the space to feel light and open while making the accessories add a pop of colour. Nothing says modern farmhouse like adding a wood-burning stove! It adds a homestyle aesthetic and functions wonderfully for breakfast with the view of the hills through the large open windows.

Beyond the kitchen is a live wood console, decorated with a vase of pampas grass and large, gold disk which reflects the warm sunlight shining through the windows. The powder room offers an experience for guests. it includes a tall window, illuminating the space and features patterned wallpaper and live edge countertop. The entrance from the garage is as simply welcoming as the front door. The simplicity of a bench in front of a horizontal paneled accent wall leaves this area unforgotten. Above this area is a long corridor on the second floor with sides that open up to the main floor.

From the second floor, the corridor with open sides is in unity with the open concept of the home. On one side of the corridor is a reading area brought together with cozy textures and a gold accented side table. This looks over the living area of the home and gives a grand spectrum of the tall ceilings and peak in the roof. On the other side of the corridor is the master bedroom. The red area rug gives a pop of colour while still incorporating the modern farmhouse lifestyle. It is combined with a rattan chair and goat head over the bed for a memorable aesthetic. The ensuite is calming with its sky blue, glossy shower tile beyond the freestanding bathtub. Greenery and black accents are included in the ensuite to reinforce a modern concept and relaxing environment. The skylights are fully visible on the second floor and really shows how the outside comes into the home. These allow an abundance of natural light blending a modern interior with the country lifestyle!
